Photography has never been my main thing. But it’s always been my passion.

My first camera was a Kodak instamatic in the ’70s. Later I was shooting film with an SLR and (sometimes) developing in the darkroom. I miss the thrill of watching images magically emerge on paper after developing carefully by hand, or tearing into a packet of prints sent back with the negs from a shoot. I don’t own a loupe anymore and can’t remember the last time I looked at a contact sheet. Digital photography is even more exciting. Today photographic techniques are limitless, from high-tech cameras to high-def processing. What hasn’t changed is the essence of photography. It’s about capturing something, someone, a scene, a feeling… a moment in time. Through the lens I hope to capture the transcendent nature of my subject through shape and color, shadow and light.

With a background in journalism, PR, marketing and design, I’ve had the opportunity to hang out with and learn from some really amazing photographers. I love collaborating with them and shooting on my own. My niche, if I have one, is creating images for websites and social media, for business or personal use.
